Frank Meredith Walker Sr.

Frank Meredith Walker Sr. was born on January 2, 1919 in Bazette, Texas and grew up in Corsicana, Texas. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters and was the baby of the family. His dad died when he was just 4 years old. His mother was tough and wonderful and sweet and she knew he was a ring tailed tooter...but she loved him even though he gave her many a gray hair. He could set his sisters off like a rocket and I know because I saw him do it many times. In his senior year he was the King of Corsicana High School and he graduated in 1936. He went to St. Edwards University and the University of Texas for a little while but then came back to Corsicana. He joined the Army Air Core and was stationed in England during World War II. He married Billie June Etheredge on June 30, 1949 and he loved her all of his life. They had 6 kids, Frank, who beat him to heaven, Becky, Dale, Melanie, Lisa, & Carrie. He had a restaurant for more than 30 years and made a really great hamburger. He was a gentleman. He loved walking and golf and his family and he graduated to heaven on November 16, 2007. He had some dreams he fulfilled and some he didn't but all in all he had a pretty great life.

I will never forget a story Gma told me years ago. Some of you kids were over and wanted a snack. Big Frank only had milk to drink for yall so he told Gma she better get her rain slicker on just in case.....still makes me laugh. And this made me cry too. And smile
