Wedding weekend!

Here's a randoms to start the weekend.

There's much to do before we head out. Any robber people reading my blog, there will people staying at my house and so you have no chance to take our stuff! And even if you try, my dog isn't making the trip and she's not happy about it and she will eat your leg off!!

Don't come here!

Moving on....

Another good drawsome from a showoff.
Cute pic of auntie and nephew.
Me and the Caitlin face timing.
For a moment, Olivia thought this was heaven.
Maggie's werqing it while in Texas on a cold wintery day.
A delicious cookie in the shape of...well you know
Halftime Hank's! Caitlin and Olivia have a Hank's soda at every halftime of a Duke basketball game.
Texas forever in cup form.
Another great one.
He's a beaut.
Disgruntled?
I'd say so.
A very memorable day about which I will remain mum.
I don't even know. But I suspect that's two of my daughters.
Stating the obvious.
This is an in front photo bomb. Well played Maya.

We're going to the chapel and someone's gonna get married.

That song's in your head now isn't it?

Safe travels and lets get this party started.

Now THAT song's in your head too right?

My work is done.

Here are some things

The week so far....

Carlie hornswaggled me into doing the computer for worship and preaching this past Sunday. If you don't know what that means, all the words to songs and the preacher's powerpoint is run by a person on a computer. Last Sunday that would be me. I could get drunk with power so quick like. I could be a master puppeteer! It's probably not a good thing for me to do very often. Also, I wasn't the first, the second or the fifth person Carlie asked. That would be me in dead last. Funzies!

Words are important.
Emma multi tasked as she did something here, then went to sing, then finished up in the nursery.
I'd give myself a C- on the day.
That place looks huge!

Anyway....Carlie sort of said on the WAY OUT THE DOOR, "Oh yeah...a song and lights too...." trails off...... You might think, oh push a button that's easy peasy. NO! I even practiced with Jared like 3 times before the service started. NO PROBLEM. So when it was time to dim the lights, did they dim? Absolutely not. I was mashing buttons all over the place and nothing happened. No amount of mashing caused light to go off. How does that happen? I had just practiced. There was a bit of awkward worship singing in full daylight until I asked a guy to help me and he finally mashed a button and it all went dim. Flop sweat causes me to not think clearly.

Moving on....

Yesterday at work I was overseeing little boys going to the potty, and one little boy was taking a long time and I finally said, "Let's go man, it's time to go outside!" And he replied exasperatedly, "My body won't let me!" Which of course is a new way of saying, I don't have to go. Amused me.

We are T minus two sleeps until leaving town for wedding number one, and I must say I'm so over shopping for the perfect clothing for my boys. I've been to the mall 9000 times in the last two weeks. That may be a slight exaggeration. BUT! I think I'm finished. I've shopped with John, Owen, Melanie, Lydia, Olivia and Emma....some of those peeps more than 50 times. OK, maybe not 50. Some tense moments have occurred. BUT! We are ready for the big day. BUT! The girls may be shopping their way into Lafayette due to the fact Emma still hasn't procured a dressy dress. But no worries she will be wearing something.

I love a wedding.

Tears may or may not flow (that's for you Lindsey). I say that's for you Lindsey because, a few years back when we were at the beach, there was a wedding one afternoon as we were readying ourselves for the sunset. And while we were sitting in our lawn chairs....all decked out for a wedding in our swim suits....we turned our chairs to watch the ceremony and as it was wrapping up, I may or may not have shed a tear or two for the unknown couple. Don't know why. Anyway, fast forward to Lindsey and Bill's wedding day when I shed not one tear as I witnessed the blessed event. Don't know why. I guess I was overjoyed to the point of dehydration? Sounds like a good one to me. I'm kinda nervous now cause if I cry at Austin and Lauren's, Lindsey may clock me!

Moving on again....I really have nothing to move onto at this point so I'll close.

I just thought of something. I've tried multi times to put video on my blog and it just doesn't work. It's so frustrating.

I've gone to bed at 3:00 for the last three nights. I've got to go sooner tonight.

If you've never heard of the movie Home Run, watch it. It's awesome. And the dude is HOT.

Wrapping it up and heading to the comfy zone.

On a Sunday night/Monday morning

The reviews are in on Owen's suit and I have a winner. And I found a hemmer of men's pants, so it's safe to say he won't be wearing shorts to the wedding this weekend.

I'm tired and it's too late to write anything else, so here are some randoms.

Ellie reflecting on life.
And Grace.
It was a good day for John.
It was a bad day for Emma after a bike wreck.
Milo likes to try to hitch rides, even when he has no idea where he's going.
Caitlin's super excited about the what's cooking game for the trip to Florida.
We've been looking for mother of the groom dresses all over. Who knew Emma was looking as well?!
That really is a terrible towel.
Addy's got dibs on all the presents.
Emma's seems happy about little nibbles. Whatever they are.
Really not good at sharing presents OR rawhides.
Almost launch time.
He thinks he's hidden amongst the discarded Christmas wrap.
Pretty sure Caitlin's at the drive thru.
If Maya starts walking on two feet regular like, we all need to be worried.
First trip to Santa!
Another day another nap.
William and the blustery day!
A picture of a picture. Kinda weird, but I like how Caitlin looks photo shopped into the background.
Possible commercial for Collin Street.
Christmastime photo shoot from another angle.
It's easy being that cute.
And that cool.
Whistler's mother settling in for some TV.
Caitlin and William shopping.
He looks harmless, but he's always been a ninja cat.
Treasure land for dogs.
It was Christmastime and we were shopping for another perfect tree...our first at the depot.
Short and sweet and to the point.

I gots to go see if my bed is still there.

Bless all people everywhere...even the ones who may not deserve it.

It's all about the clothes...or lack thereof

When I was last here, Owen and I were going shopping for a suit. Well the grades are in, but first let me tell you about it. I'm a HUGE believer in communication, so days before Owen and I went shopping, I gave him a rundown of what we were looking for and what to expect. Failure was not an option. Just before we left the house I asked John if he'd like to go with us and he quickly and emphatically stated, "NO." But before Owen and I left, he told the boy, "Cooperate, be pleasant and it will be less painful." What I know about Owen is, he doesn't get distracted by the things John does. Shiny appliances are unappealing and the feel of fabric means nothing to him. In fact, distractions are his enemy keeping him from the exit. So I looked for suits and he was every bit the cooperative adult I never dreamed he would be. And just as his father told him, it was easy and painless and we left with nothing because my coupon didn't start til the next day! So then I came home and ordered it all online. Now I'm waiting with anticipation for a fashion show when it all comes in. So exciting! So overall the boy gets an A for the trip. He loves to make A's. As we were riding home I said, "So lets pretend you care about clothes and if you did what would you choose to wear to the wedding?" His answer, black pants, dark blue shirt, tie and no jacket. I was happy he even played the game!

Then the next night I kept up my non-stop shopping with another excursion with John. We're still searching for the elusive black dress shoe. And I find with him it's best if I just spring it on him when I'm ready to walk out the door. Once again we found nothing. I hate so many men's shoes. If only I could become a cobbler. So when we left I said, "So lets pretend you care about clothes and if you did what kind of black shoes would you buy? And his choice was a slip on when described sounded exactly like the old ones we're replacing. So the discussion went something like this..."Why do you want another slip on loafer type situation?" And he said, "So I can slip it off when I need to scratch my toe." Of course my next question was, "And how often do you have to scratch your toe?" His answer, "More times than you might think." So once again I discovered another reason for why he cares not about being fashion forward. The list now includes itchy toes. At this point, I'd settle for "fashion not going backwards." Sigh....his math teacher look remains.

Update about the wedding clothing: I wrote all that a week ago and then Carrie came to town and before I knew it multi days passed and now here I am finishing the story. BUT! Owen's stuff just got here! But! He's in school! Bummer! Then when he gets home I'll be at work! Bummer again!

Then last night John and I went to see the black shoes that were ordered for him and we liked them! Miracles still happen. And just in case you were wondering, it's not a slip on shoe. SO! Four or five times in the next year, when he's wearing his suit with the lace up shoes, he'll have more difficulty accessing his itchy toes. And all I have to say about that is ewwwwww.

Continuing with the discussion about clothing....Monday night a group of us went to eat Mexican and William was in attendance. After some amount of time eating queso, the boy was so covered in cheesy sauce, his clothes had to be removed. And there he was, unashamedly in diaper only in the restaurant. He was the cutest naked person in the place. I promise.

It's remarkable how children can be naked and uncaring in public. It's together awesome and frightening.

And that's the last few days in a nutshell.

Also, my cable and Internet have been bad all day....SO annoying.

Also also, I've almost convinced myself it will never be cool in Louisiana again.

Hope to post more this week so stay tuned.

The end.
