After wedding activities

After the reception, we all went back to the hotel to toss aside our finery for the comfy clothes. It was a good decision. Most all the people migrated to Grandma's room where good seating was at a premium and floor space was going for 10 bucks a foot. Thankfully I scored a spinny office chair and monitored my fluid intake until bedtime. My venture was successful.

Scroll down to see the poor suckers who were reduced to embracing the floor for a spot.

These are the faces of poor suckers.
Olivia knows she's a poor sucker without a chair. These two had office chair races after all people went to bed.

The next morning began with most of us meeting downstairs so some could enjoy the extensive continental breakfast as we watched William cruise the lobby for chicks. However, throughout the weekend the mood of the toddler turned uncharacteristically surly and by Sunday morning, speaking to him, touching his person or looking in his general direction was frowned upon by the flaxen haired lad. Early Sunday his parents saw it was time to hit the road for home and quickly packed the boy and their belongings and headed for the exit. Not surprisingly, toddlers don't see wedding weekends the same as adults. But I'm happy to report once back home, and in his own element, he was back to his jovial self.

But while the Swanders scampered for the highway, the rest of us met the new Mr. and Mrs. for a lovely brunch at a place called Another Broken Egg just across the street from our hotel. When we arrived, I noted something very quickly. Scroll down and see.

Matchy matchy is so not cool, but the two boys could have cared less.
This is evidence of some of the partakers....except for the floopy eyed girl behind Rebecca who will forever be trapped in this family moment with strangers she shall never see again.

More brunch peeps rehashing the night before. Whitney seems gleeful.
These pictures portray blurry tired people with hungry tummies. I love it.
Weep not Maggie. I actually think she just got something in her eye. Not sure Owen cares.
Aww look at the sissies all happy and loving each other.
Table dwellers.
Plus John being weird.
And the other end.
Plus me.
Another age group of sissies.
After we finished our delicious brunch it was back to the hotel to hurridly pack our many many many belongings and head to the open road. There was so much crap to pack since my daughters felt the need to be prepared for any fashion, makeup or hair emergency. So after the u-haul was loaded, we headed out for the open road but with one more stop to make.

Because Mollie was staying in Lafayette to spend the day with her boyfriend, the rest of us helped ourselves to her new humble abode in another southern city. Scroll down to see the home crashers.

After we left her place, my car zeroed in on a Dairy Queen and a turn it upside down to check the thickness Blizzard and then we continued on our way home.

All in all our first weekend ever in Lafayette was a lovely memory made to be remembered for a lifetime. I love a good new memory, especially those well photographically documented, because it makes it so much easier to remember all the events.

And with this post I'm signing off on this wedding a little ahead of the next one....just two weeks away.

Godspeed to the photographers and the memory makers.

And to new memories.

Reception fun

Fall has fallen and the weather is fab and life is moving quickly since we are almost to November! And the next wedding is just two weeks away! And I have to get the last wedding posted before the next wedding can come! I've exclaimed a lot!

Moving on.....

Lots of stuff is happening and not all of it is good, and as the future remains as uncertain as ever I could so freak out right now. (Friends quote acknowledged.) BUT Olivia just came home early from school again because her teacher, and Whitney's favorite person in the whole wide world, lets them out as if class is just a suggestion and not a requirement. It makes me nuts. Especially knowing the current issues at the university. BUT. She and I were sitting here talking and she was reminding me that she and Caitlin are going to a lecture by Ben and Jerry, the ice cream people, at the university this afternoon. Then I told her not to let their liberal get on them. And she said,"Mom, I'm the last of your children that would turn out to be a liberal....but maybe the first one to be a felon." I had to write it down because I thought it so funny, but also hope it doesn't turn out to be true.

I have many photos to post but my motivation for almost anything is just not there. We'll see if it improves in the next few days, but a sabbatical is not out of the question. Life needs to get more interesting quickly to make this blog spicy.

Take a gander at the reception pics from the Lauren and Austin's wedding.

The O and the G.
And the close up.

It was a bottle of champagne the bride's parents bought when she was little and they saved it for her wedding day. They said is wasn't good.

Cutting the yummy cake.

Oh the cell phone...we used almost all of our data package with most of our month ahead of us. If I could add a smiley here, It's be the one with the hands on face with open mouth.
I guess I could have edited that flower out of the pic, but it's too late now.
Cute pic.
The boy with some aunties.
Why do I look blurry?
Took the opportunity to get some pics with the boy.
Whitney's always so restrained.
Cute picture of the leaners. I think Carlie asked if they were on a boat. Pretty funny.
Carlie do you have a caption for this photo?
The W and the B.
And the happy couple was sent off into the night by the light of sparklers. Great picture by Carlie.
I have one more Lafayette post to do.

But I gots to get ready to go herd the kiddies for a couple of hours.

Have a nice rest of the day peeps.
