The pumpkin patch Part 1

I've lived here all my life and never seen the good stuff! I've never been to a pumpkin farm and I've never picked my own pumpkins. Well now I have. A few weeks ago Lindsey proposed a trip to a nearby pumpkin farm and I jumped at the chance for a go see. It was the cutest place, and now I want it. To live in the country, seems like it would be fun. Not sure that will ever happen, but it's fun to think about. Of course William went along as well as Melanie, Carlie and Grandma. And of course we took many pictures of the sweet little boy enjoying his time amidst the pumpkin patch. But it seems ridiculous that William at 5 months and me at 53 went to our first pumpkin patch on the same day. I've got to get out more!

There are two sets of pictures and I'm starting with Melanie's first. She took some and Carlie took some of these.

Lets see what we found in country.

Just getting started.
At times he seemed unsure of what people's plans for him were.
But then he settled in and seemed happy about it.
Then he found a leaf and got distracted.
Then it looked like he was 25 yards away.
But he was still happy.
And cute.
That pumpkin looks irresistible.
Got to get his feet on a pumpkin.
While still being cute.
This picture cracks me up.
More pics after the position change.
If Lindsey's hands weren't visible here, we'd be talking floating head.
This is much less of a floating head.
So sweet.
I just now saw my giant hand coming in from the side to ruin this pic.
Cute.
Still cute.
Carlie T and Willie D.
And then the Hollywood version.
I"d say William was about to ask, "What are y'all doing putting me up here on this dangerous precipice?"
Melanie obviously found a helicopter to take this aerial shot.
Foul one.
Foul two.
Picnic time.
This dog's name is Bear. He is so sweet and gentle, and his owner told us he doesn't like chips for snacks, and she wasn't kidding. When I offered him one, he turned away uninterested. Shocking.
Sneaking a snuggle.
Laying down sweetness.
Again cracks me up.
Look at those eyelashes.
It was so hard to cull any photos.
Pondering.
Happiness.
Love the pumpkins on his outfit.
Great picture and next it was off for a hayride.
Not sure what Carlie's about to do with her hand.
And then gotta have a picture in the corn field.
This may be another time when William was questioning the whereabouts of himself.
And there you have our visit to the pumpkin patch. It was the most perfect day with lots of great pictures taken. I have many to post from my camera as well, and I will do that soon....maybe later today. But I have a girls trip to take on Thursday and so I'll be off for the weekend. And before I get home, John will be traveling to Chicago, so our cross over trips will cause us to go 9 days without seeing each other. Don't know how many years it's been since that happened.
And with the presidential election coming, that's really the last place on earth I'd want him to be on that day. But I trust God to keep him safe.

Peace to all people everywhere.

Let's do this

As Carlie stated in a comment left on my last post, I forgot to mention that at the viewing party for the ULM game, I snuck out. I did so because the game was just too scary. And so I stealthily grabbed my purse and keys and quietly exited before anyone noticed. BUT when I got home, John was watching none other than the ULM game! So, I got my supper and went to my room to wait it out. But when I finished eating, the game was still on, so then I went to take a shower. I was really running out of stuff to occupy my time. And it was there that John told me ULM had won in overtime. Whew! I was exhausted from not watching. So later, he and I watched the end of the game online, and when it was over, he asked if not watching had been the right decision. And my answer was an emphatic yes, cause I'd have fainted for sure. I just can't take the scary games.

Moving on....

In case you forgot since the last post, I found some pictures on my old phone, and I'm gonna be posting some. The reason I chose these to be first is because today was hot. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold. In order to celebrate the possible need for sock hats and warm woolen mittens, here we go.

It seems apparent that Caitlin and Olivia had a photo session using my phone and their sock hats hand knitted by their grandmother in Pennsylvania.
Holla!
This is as wacky as Olivia gets. She's actually waaay out there.
And this is Caitlin owning it.
On all levels.
Then Olivia got crazy.
So Caitlin had to punch it up a notch.
We have so many of these hats I just can't tell you.
And by mid winter Olivia will be seen wearing many in the house often.
And this is Owen at his craziest. Seriously.
See what my peeps do with time on their hands and a camera phone? It gets all crazy up in the house.

I feel I can't top last night's drop it like it's hot. In fact, it's put a lot pf pressure on me to one up myself. Don't think it can be done tonight. And I don't think I can commit to exploring the world of rap to look for more material. I just don't see that happening.

Party on.

Since I've been gone

As you might can tell, I haven't been in the blogging mood. Not a bit. Life changing things have been happening in my family, not so much with my six, but with ones I care about. Lots of times trusting God is the hardest thing to do. So here's one more prayer being sent up for people in Louisiana and Texas for healing, happiness and long lives. In Jesus name. I know God still heals.

And as I stated in my last post, I Instagram more than I blog these days and so I'll catch up my blog to my gramming. If you've seen these pics before, tough it. I know Carlie hasn't!! Lets see what's been happening in life since we last met.

Emma continues to get dressed every day.....with flair.
Went with Willie D to the pumpkin farm, which I decided I want for my very own.
Sweetness.
Happens every day. It's exhuasting.
The football continues to show up in strange places.
Whitney sent me this fantabulous picture of myself, and she just happened to be in it too. I need to blow this up and paste it to my real face. I NEVER look like this. Well, I guess I did one time.
We went to another football game a couple of weeks ago, and when I asked Caitlin how many I'd been to, cause I thought I'd been to at least 8, she said, "You've been to one." WHAT?!?!?! NO! My buttocks have been to at least four! But alas, one was true. Caitlin and Mollie came by for a visit while "working." Olivia happily sat next to me in the stands. OK, that's not really true. She can't take my occasional boredom as well as my awesome dancing abilities. Because when the groovy music comes on, I MUST ROCK!
Boys still love to huddle and shout out a good chanting war cry.
Then Carlie came by for a chat on her way to funnel cake heaven.
This game was fairly boring and at some point, I looked at my phone more than the game. And then something good would happen and I'd have missed it, which would cause me to say, "OK, what just happened?"
Caitlin and Olivia continue their search of every shape and size marshmallow in the land. And I continue to hide them.
We saw this gorgeous sunset whilst searching for a flag pole and holder.
Because we're flying the school colors. And since we found the holder and not the pole, we are now presenting in this fashion. It doesn't look ridiculous AT ALL.
My cousin Connie sent me this great picture from our beach trip of Keith and Ila.
John continues his streak of forgetting to unlock the back door before he exits. RIDICULOUS! And Addy's wondering where her "I'm with stupid t-shirt is.
I took this picture of red doors downtown. And although I don't like my car shadow in the picture, I love the red doors!
Which brings me to the other day when I had a fight with a 3 year old boy. I won't list all his offenses but he stuck his tongue out at me 3 times, and shockingly, I DID NOT respond in kind. The first "stick" was obviously directed at me. And when I addressed it with him, he immediately retracted the offender. But, in another minute, I looked over at him as he was sitting in time out, and sure enough, the little bugger was at it again. Only this time when he saw me see him, he began kind of wagging his tongue around in his mouth as if he was just "giving it some air." I had to turn my head to hide my amusement. Well, I wasn't gonna tell his mom about his multi offenses until HE announced to ME he was gonna tell on me to her. To which I maturely retorted, "Well now I AM gonna tell on you!" And I did, even though I didn't want to. I hate it when kids call my bluff. So, the next day when I arrived at work, guess who was one of the first kids to enthusiastically smile and say hello. I love that kid, and I wish I could forgive and forget as quickly as children.

Over the weekend we had a watch party of ULM's game against Western Kentucky and I have to say I can't take the pressure of a close sports game. And in that game, as many wrong things that could have happened to ULM at the end....did...and yet they still won. But I was hiding out waiting to be told the outcome due to nervousness. It may be my most hated trait about myself. I love this ULM "little team that could." But I can't believe it's almost game day again as Saturday quickly approaches. In case you didn't know, you can't turn off a real game when it's close and you're nervous. Double ugh to that.

And then today I went to Wal Mart to buy multi things, cat food being one of them. WELL, when I picked up the bag by the bottom, the WHOLE BAG OF FOOD EMPTIED ONTO THE FLOOR! I audibly gasped to the point of almost swallowing my goozle, looked around to assess my options, and then quickly FLED THE SCENE!! And even now that I look at my mess, I only feel about 10% guilt. I only wish I could hear the person who had to clean it up as they talked about the idiot who did that. I would have heartily agreed with them. BUT manufacture people! Glue the tops shut properly!
One last thing, before I got my new phone, I found some pictures on my old phone to be real keepers and over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some. Mostly of my kids. So be ready. And don't forget, I posted Elvis hair of myself. So you should be worried.

Drop it like it's hot.
