Ski swinging...the new sport in Corsicana

All of the swings you see in all of these photos were hand made by Dale and each and every one was a hit with the crowd. The only problem with any swing anywhere in the world is that people have to propel themselves instead of a swing just swinging.....how awesome would that be....a baby swing for adults!

Well, because one swing's ropes were a tad too short to allow a person to propel themselves with their own feet, the answer in true redneck fashion was to use a stick for the propelling. And so, as evidenced by the following pictures, the new sport of ski swinging became a reality on the farm.

And I think my favorite thing about the whole swinging dilemma was the fact that anyone that chose to get in the too short swing, just knew the stick was part of the deal.

So, people grabbed the stick and got down to swinging redneck style.

You gotta love it.





And because kids hardly ever have a difficult time getting someone to swing them, I'm giving extra props to Ella for giving it the old kindergarten try.






Also popsicles for breakfast are a must have for swinging.


Swinging in your pjs is delightful.












The stick was a multipurpose tool as it was also used as a barrier to hold children in the swing. Our family is nothing if not adaptable...sheer brilliance.
