Day 7 in Corsicana by Olivia

June 2, 2013
Departure day

It's a beautiful day for leaving. It rained some last night and now it's nice and cool out. At some point during the night Lisa hit her head on the shelves next to her bed in the front bedroom and said a word that starts with "s" and ends with "hit" very loudly. It was pretty funny to wake up too. We're gong to enjoy the last morning on the porch then set off for home. Maggie's trying to get Carlie to stop at Braum's in Athens and she is not interested. Maggie will probably make it happen. The Herrocks will be getting ice cream too and Olivia will probably get the old standby C.C.C.D. Olivia has noticed she eats a lot of ice cream over here. She thought about it, and is OK with it.

Stay wonderful Corsicana.

From me:  an explanation about the hitting of the head.

I did. In fact. Somehow. Hit my head on the morning of our leaving. What had happened was.....I was getting back in bed, and in the process of getting back in the bed, and I don't know how, hit my head on the bookcase on the OPPOSITE side of where I was getting in. I mean. I had to work hard to do it. But what I remember saying was something really sweet and gentile like, "Well butterfingers." Olivia chose to slander me by accusing me of saying something much more saucy. You choose who you believe.

I'll finish these posts about our trip with a few artsy pics I tried to take whilst on the farm. I really like the word whilst. It's a good one. Anyway, this place has been photographed and documented to the nth degree, and yet every time I go there, I try to take something new and perfect. These were my attempt on this trip.

And as Olivia said, "Stay wonderful Corsicana."

Until next time...
