Day 2 in Corsicana by Olivia

A visit to Dallas May 28, 2013

Emma's iPhone has been troubling her so she decided to take a quick trip to Dallas to get it fixed or replaced. So Caitlin, Emma and Olivia set off for Dallas around 11:45 with the hopes of returning around 3 or 4.

Spoiler alert: we got home at 5.

After a traffic detour in Rice, TX, it was smooth sailing and we arrived at the Apple store on Knox Street around 12:30. At some point during the drive, Olivia realized she had forgotten to put on deodorant. She was crushed and it became her goal to purchase deodorant as soon as she could. The trio ambled around Knox Street waiting for Emma's appointment at Apple then dropped Emma off and Caitlin and Olivia bought deodorant and it changed Olivia's life. After lunch at Pei Wei, and a stroll around Central Market and a gelato disaster meltdown (literally) they headed home. Caitlin also got Sprinkles cupcakes and French macaroons that changed HER life. After we returned home we discovered that John and Lisa's lives had actually not stalled in our absence and they had gone to eat at Chili's (Lisa regrets this choice) and taken a drive with the Adsterbear (Addy).

We took a trip to Collin Street after dark to steal some wifi (Mom wanted to download something) and after we waited 15 or so minutes and befriended a cat, it still wasn't working fast enough and we went home because some had to shower. Olivia and Caitlin stayed at the house to shower while Emma and Lisa returned to CSB for more wifi. On Olivia's way to the shower she received quite the shock when a snake jumped (I swear it jumped) on the sidewalk which then caused Olivia to jump and scream, "snake!" She may or may not have danced a jig.

Luckily John was outside and sprang (sprung?) into action. The Diamondback watersnake (not a rattlesnake) was contained and Olivia showered cautiously  jumping at everything that moved. She also used all the hot water which made Caitlin angry but it was quite funny. The time came for an evening ride where the most notable things were a fallen Texas rat snake on the road (another vigil, of course) and the ever quotable Olivia said, "I'm as disappointed as a person that just had two scoops of ice cream could be." Because, ever so sadly, Braum's did not have C.C.C.D for the third night in a row. The battle rages on.

It was a beautiful day with the temps in the 80's and the wind gusting wildly. It was the first night you could see a lot of stars.  I see I nearly broke this into paragraphs and with that I leave you.

P.S. I greedily and shamefully took two pages for 1 day that was moderately interesting and upon reflection, apologies. I just like to read my thoughts on paper.

P.P.S. I also hit golf balls today! I am bad (but progressing) at golf. John is alright at golf.
The best view ever.
Lydia's security system.
Emma's super cool picture of her book.
The boys ready for snacks.
They're such pals.

Me and my girls are off to Dallas for the weekend.

May or may not post more before next week.

Safe travels for us and George Bush Library or bust!!
