WDS

The birth of William has taken me a while to get to and honestly, it's been so difficult! Telling stories about myself is one thing, but other people's stories, well that's something else all together. But here it goes anyway. This is a picture story of the birth of a baby with THE best ending. I love a happy ending. And who doesn't? I can't ever think of a time when I heard someone say, "Well that happy ending was terrible." Nope, not once. Everyone likes to plan for the picture perfect life with the best of everything. And why not? But then of course without reason, life throws curve balls and things don't go exactly as we hoped. But then suddenly, without explanation, everything comes together exactly as it should, and lives are happily changed forever. This is just such a story. Babies are born everywhere on every day of the week. But because this particular baby was born to a family I happen to love, it's better than most. At least to me.

The expectant parents early in the laboring process. Before this day ends, baby William will make his arrival.

Some of the spectators, preparing to wait it out until William makes his appearance.

Lindsey and Mimi, William's soon to be great grandmother.

Mom passing the torch to the new Mom.

Whitney came by for moral support before going to work.

This was early morning, with excited hopes that baby would come sooner than later. But the dear baby had a different agenda, as they often do. Just as an aside, I question my hair in every single picture I ever see of me.

Baby William's still inside calling all the shots.,

As Lindsey continued to labor, in other areas of the hospital there may or may not have been tomfoolery taking place.

As the day wore on, many people came and went. You will see.

Another shot of the spectators. This is getting closer to the birth.

And as we waited, peeps had time to study.

While others had to keep their eyes peeled open with toothpicks.

We couldn't resist the opportunity to take a group shot of all the spectators taken by a person waiting for their baby to arrive. This group is overwhelming to me, so many people ready to love baby William!

One more.

People stayed excited hoping it wouldn't be much longer.

Well, not everyone. I actually think this is more of a statement about the curly blonde sitting in her lap than anything else.

Nostril shot.

Maggie enjoying a beverage. As you'll see in the following pics, Maggie was all about the snacks that night.

Walker peeps looking like they'd been up to something.

When we show up, we often see the need to change things, like channels and volumes on TVs and pictures hanging on the wall. All together, we're a force to be reckoned with.

By this time, people may have been getting a little punchy. But as the night wore on, the nursing staff vacated the area (or we ran them off) so we spilled out into the hallway. I'm certain it had nothing to do with our overbearing ways. Of course not! And Maggie's over excited about her coke cola!

This is the actual waiting area. To most of us, it was just a suggestion.

These were the "forbidden doors." For us, not so much.

Carlie anxiously awaiting the birth of nephew William.

Bill's uncles, cousin and her husband.

We finally stormed the doors because the nurses could've cared less about passing info from the labor room to us. We decided to take matters into our own hands outside Lindsey's room. But at times, we had to go covert.

This is being.....well us. Bill's Mom went along for the ride. Maggie and Owen were going rogue.

When needed, we tried to hide in plain sight.....sort of. That's Lindsey's door right there.

There were different kinds of labor being had.

We felt the need to stay hidden due to one twitty and rude "scrub tech." When she finally saw us, she made us exit the area. Twit. But we kept the watch as long as we could.

FINALLY, Emma, who was taking pictures of the birth, came out with the camera and all the spectators, starting with the g parents, got our first glimpse of baby William D.

One g paw.

The other g paw.

Our first view of the baby boy was on the camera.

So then we started taking pictures of the pictures to send to Carrie and Becky. It was a new way to use technology.

Bill's Mom and Dad had another grandson born two weeks later. A twofer!

Emma trying to explain what she'd just seen, she was overwhelmed.

Then, in the middle of all the excitement of William being born, something extraordinary happened.

Maggie, still having the munchies (I told you she was all about the food that day) got a magical 2 drop Snickers from the vending machine. She chose to share her bounty with Olivia. They couldn't have been more thrilled and vow to always remember it happened the day William was born.

Aces!

Still admiring William on the camera since he's not yet made an appearance in the hall.

It was quite the experience for Emma.

The crowds were swelling.

So happy it's over and he's here.

The newly made grandparents. The creepster in the corner is John.

Both sets of grandparents, all very excited and happy.

Whitney's set up to answer any questions at the nurse's station as she's waiting for William to make his way to the nursery with his Dad. I told you we took the place over....or ran people off.

John and Owen waiting as well.

Emma's telling war stories as we wait.

More waiters. Until finally.....

The doors opened and there he was!!! And Bill was there too.

What a beautiful baby and a proud papa.

At this point all cameras, phone and otherwise, went nuts.

Dad and son. Perfection.

And so there you have it, William's 'birth day" as seen through the spectators eyes. It was a fun, nerve racking, long, unforgettable, glorious day in April. And at this time in his life, little William has no idea what's in store for him with this wild, wacky, huge, crazy, fun loving family he was chosen to join. By the time he finally figures it out, he's gonna know he's having a blast!

Congrats and God's blessing to the new family. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Love GREAT Aunt Lisa.

That one was for you Carlie.

Like I always say, it's in the title!
