Sometimes blessings come in twos

Two healthy little boys.

Two first birthdays in five days.

There were many firsts in the last year.

But very different beginnings...

Not long after James was born he was whisked off to the intensive care unit, doctors seemed unsure whether or not there was something wrong. News flash. There wasn't. But it made for some tense hours and days before it was decided. Many prayers went up in his name and all were answered. He's little brother to William and the two of them will be making history together for years to come.

Five short days after James was born, some of us made the trip to Lafayette to be present for the birth of Lucas. After hurrying up to get there he made us wait a bit longer than we expected, but before we knew it, he was here safe and sound. It was our first ever family birth in Lafayette.

Our family's been blessed with two new perfect boys, and in this last year they've stolen the hearts of many. They're now woven into the fabric of our family and we don't know how we ever got on without them. In this last year we've anxiously awaited news of first roll overs and first teeth and first words and first steps. Photo stream is a Godsend for milestones. Every week there's something new to see through pictures and videos. It's the next best thing to being there. So as the years roll on we have a front row seat as we watch these little ones become who they are meant to be, cheering them on the whole way.

I don't know how God chooses who he sends to families, but he gets an A+ for us.

I like it when happiness comes in two's.

Scroll down for two more posts, one James, one Lucas.

I'm calling it a year in pictures.

Thank heaven for little boys...
