It was a cold dark rainy night (it really was) when sometime Sunday night there was a fake murder. If there was a fake murder, there had to be a fake murderer. Who could it be?
Was it Colonel Mustard in the drawing room with the candlestick? Nope. Colonel Mustard couldn't attend the game.
The Caper: Mr. Boddy was murdered but with what and where?
The Players:
The detectives...the game gurus....cunningly devious and always ahead of the others.
Mrs. Clementine...wife of Mr. Boddy finally found a hat that didn't look ridiculous on her.
Lady Daffodil...should have introduced her evening dress to a steamer before coming to the caper.
Mr. Green....the only color he'll ever agree to no matter what game is being played.
Miss Scarlett....holding a fake cigarette in a real holder. Also won the best dressed award. There was no prize.
Mrs. Peacock....always looking for the camera and more peacock feathers.
Lady Ravenwood....trying to look mean but just comes across as a classic (Caitlin) look in a little black dress.
The setting...don't know the fake name of the place but these are pictures of the real setting for the real game that had a fake murder. I took these photos when I got bored waiting on the players to deduce who done it.
The deducing...the real people playing fake characters had to deduce the fake murder with real fake facts. There were some real issues with some of the real fake clues such as "the letter" the players were to find and read for a clue. BUT, when Miss Scarlett found "the letter" crumpled on the floor, she thought it was trash and threw it away, therefore no one found the clue. Good citizenry can get in the way of murder deduction.
Also during the game, scary music was playing and when paused whispered a name. It scared the begeezez out of many of the players. During the game playing, I took real photos of people portraying fake characters who were searching searching searching for real fake answers.
I came across Lady Ravenwood.....she's scary.
Mr. Green....looks quite chipper.
Mrs. Peacock....ALWAYS camera ready.
Lady Daffodil....the pursing of the tiny lips is supposed to make people afraid.....it DID NOT.
Mrs. Clementine really really loves her orange purse.
Miss Scarlett....discovered my camera and began snapping pictures of herself. I found multi multi photos.
Armed with little black detective notebooks, pencils and flashlights, the peeps had to do much walking around to find rooms and clues. Those people who wore high heels....because they were committed to their character....were soon barefooted trying to hobble along in search of clues.
FINALLY (it seemed like a REALLY long time) several people were ready to make an accusation. Lady Daffodil went first and alone to meet the detectives with the following information:
The murderer...Mrs. Peacock
The weapon....sword
The location....the study
Lady Daffodil was incorrect on one count.
The detectives then sent a text to the rest of the players saying someone else could attempt a guess. You should have seen the flurry of people running to be the next guesser. It was quite amusing.
Apparently Miss Scarlett left everyone in the dust because her's was the next guess.
The murderer...Mrs. Peacock
The weapon....sword
The location....the lounge
She was correct!
So, Miss Scarlett got it right (although everyone else knew it as well) and don't forget she won the best dressed award (remember there was no prize). It was a good night for Miss Scarlett.
The offender....all those smiles were hiding a terrible secret.
Mrs. Peacock was having an affair with Mrs. Clementine's husband. I'm not sure what her motivation was BUT she "offed" him for some reason.
Then weapons had to be collected so as not to scare the begeezez out of the church secretary. Lady Ravenwood continued to look frightening.
A photo shoot with the characters.
There may have been some overacting.
The entire event was a huge success.
Thumbs up from me.
