A baby shower must mean a baby's on the way

A few weeks ago, Lindsey was given a baby shower by friends and family. The day couldn't have been more beautiful with a warm sunshiney morning being the backdrop for a lovely party. And even though I'm not a morning person, I wholeheartedly support the idea of giving a party in the late morning. Then you have the whole day left to do whatever you want! The party was a hit and we had so much fun! She got so many great things for the wee babe. William will be one beautiful boy with a wardrobe to be jealous of! I could list many things she got, but that would take forever. Just know she got most of the stuff babies MUST HAVE and then some stuff they love to have. Don't forget, the day was gorgeous. I feel as if I need to emphasize that again. Because it was.

The parents to be arriving at the venue, Bill's parents' home. It's gorgeous as you can see from the pictures.

And the super cute door decoration. Pinterest has so many craft ideas!

Lindsey's excited to get things under way.

These two are family, but also life long friends. That's Caitlin doing a model photo shoot in the background.

Now I pondered whether or not to put this pic in. BUT because the facial expressions were so similar. I decided to do it, because it amuses me.

But here's the keeper.

Two similar standing styles, Caitlin, of course, is missing the baby bump.

Sissies and hostesses.

Cousins and hostesses.

This is Lindsey and her sister in law Liz. They are due the exact same day. It's Liz and her husband's 3rd child and she's waiting til the birth to find out boy or girl. There really are no other options.

Very similar bumps, one's decidedly north, the other south.

Conversations were around every corner.

Caitlin's aware of the camera this time.

Emma's making an entrance. Olivia on the other hand rarely enjoys making an entrance.

Many gifts, much hugging and greeting, otherwise it'd just be a bunch of peeps hanging out in a stranger's house.

Olivia loves to dress up for a party. If you didn't take note of the sarcasm, you should have.

Now this was the most interesting story of the day. We have a friend, Katie, who lives in Baton Rouge. She drove up the night before especially for the party and stayed with a friend. Katie brought only one pair of shoes on her trip (she of course WORE shoes on the trip but they were tennis shoes). Well, it seems Katie packed for her trip very quickly in the dark and grabbed her shoes and didn't recheck them before leaving town. It was only when she was getting dressed for the party did she realize that even though she had packed two shoes, they were two different shoes. But, at least they looked similar, as you can see in the photo. One might ask, "Katie, why did you buy two pairs of shoes that look exactly alike?" I'm gonna try to remember to ask her next time I see her.

Her problem was, they were both lefties, so those little piggies were crying "wee wee wee" all the way home!. It still amuses me.

Grandma has arrived.

The girlies again.

Great picture of our friend Angela with Becky and Lindsey.

Courtney, Mollie and the Katie with two left shoes.

Carmen. Whitney, Becky and Suzie.

Lindsey didn't eat all the yummy cake.

Cute pic.

Caitlin and Courtney.

Whitney chose to serve only herself.

The gift opening had begun.

William's christening gown made by our friend Judy.

Sooo mature Rebecca.

Spectators watching the opening. At one point, when a pair of brightly colored jammies was opened, the crowd literally gasped in delight. Cracked me up! I mean, they were just brightly colored jammies! It wasn't 100 dollar bills.

This outfit's so freaking cute. That's Malia, one of Lindsey's students helping her open gifts. She looks THRILLED.

This was a personalized gift from Suzie, soooooo cute. Malia's losing it.

The front of the Willie t shirt. Malia's now doing some stretching exercises to try and regain some alertness.

This was gifted from Katie. She made it herself. I think that's Becky's silhouette in the framed art. How'd she do that?

Mom and soon to be Mom.

Roomies. What these two flanking girls have seen and heard from this middle girl? I can't imagine the stories they could tell.

Maggie caught in silent prayer, probably something about Whitney not being weird anymore. Sorry Mags, but I'm still waiting for that answer. Muahahahahaha. I've got a million of em!

The hostesses with the honoree...lots of pretty girls.

It was a great party. And now that all the essentials for babies have been obtained, and the nursery's ready, all that's needed is for baby William to make his appearance!

He's pretty much in charge of that.

We're very close to being on call 24/7.

It's gonna be SO. MUCH. FUN.

I just hope I get to hold him before he's 16. Cause that would just be awkward.
