Some updates about life then and now

In the last couple weeks some things have occurred that I haven't mentioned. So now I'm mentioning them.
Olivia made this super cute door hanging warhawk. She free handed the face and did all the painting. I was super impressed.
It's now residing on our front door.
This was last weekend when James wasn't in the finest fettle. But we worked it out.
We went to see Maggie's super cute house she just moved in.
And Maya was all like.....where y'all been?!
Then Milo...
Was ridiculous.
Yes I said ridiculous.
Last night we went by to see the boys but James was snoozing.
The sunset was gorgeous.
Worth one more look.
The girls got a new window treatment and now there is too much light for sleeping.
My room for comparison of what their's used to be. Their's ain't good.
Also John sent this of our son asleep at college in a lounge close to his office.
John says LOTS of people sleep on that couch. All I see is shared spittle. Ewww.

Then today at work this was my conversation with a 1st grader.

Him: I just learned something bad
Me: What was it?
Him: I'm not gonna tell you.
Me: Well, that's what you come to school for isn't it?

One last thing....a
couple months ago I recorded the journal entries of all the trips made to Corsicana from September 2013 to January 2014. I intended to post them a long time ago then didn't. Now I am.

Here's the first one from last fall... September 20, 2013

Maggie and Randy arrived today in the afternoon and Caitlin, Carlie and Olivia arrived very late that evening. It rained nearly the whole way here but it was nice because it hasn't rained in a while and it brought the temperature down to fabulous. (Mid 80's with a north wind + 70's a night.) We had Braum's on the way in and Maggie and Randy had Old Mexican Inn and Braum's in Corsicana. It was a relatively uneventful ride. We are here to go see ULM at Baylor tomorrow and are hoping for a good result. It is going to be a very quick trip. We watched Spanish soap operas for some amount of time before calling it a night. We don't have to leave too early tomorrow but we will probably leave early enough to have time to kill before the game and get really bored and be too far from the actual Baylor campus to see it. Good night for now.

Spoiler alert: Wrote this after the game. It did not go well.

September 21, 2013

Today we drove to Waco to watch the football game.

Randy getting gassy.
Some game attendees.
The back of Caitlin's head.
Olivia the pointer sister.
We tailgated for a bit and....We sat at a table in a tent and people watched while Randy ate.

then went to find our seats.

They have a nice stadium but it's really old and you can tell why they are building a new one.
The boys before the massacre. Poor boys.

Once the game started there was very little to cheer for and all spirit was killed with 7 minutes left in the first quarter. Maggie and Randy got field passes though so that was cool. We left before halftime and got home by 5:30.

We sat on the porch and Maggie and Olivia chopped down a mesquite tree to burn on the fire.

We got stuff for s'more's and Scholtzsky's and had a lovely evening on the porch admiring our bad tan lines. We got Braum's (yes after we ate s'mores)

Somebody better wear Pampers to bed.
And went on a night ride. We saw a creepy lady downtown and Caitlin made us drive by her too many times (+ Caitlin back seat drove the whole time) then we went to the post oaks. We saw a jack rabbit and a regular rabbit and a barn owl that flew over the car.

After our ride we came home to sleep and prepare for the departure tomorrow. The weather had been truly fantastic the whole time.

September 22, 2013

Everyone leaves today. Randy and Carlie left first and Caitlin, Maggie and Olivia enjoyed a little bit more of the wonderful weather and left to go up to Dallas to shop for dresses to attend weddings in. (And to eat delicious food.) Once they are done in Dallas they will head back to Monroe and continue going to school. Sadness all around. Until next time.

Caitlin is making someone hurry and write this so spelling/handwriting is even worse than usual.

TA TA!

Dallas bound people arrived.
They saw a bicycle they loved.
And that's the last couple weeks here in town and a throwback to a year ago when ULM got pummeled by Baylor....Billie's school of choice back in the day.

That's all for now peeps.

Godspeed and protection over two girls....and anyone traveling to Washington D.C. in the next few hours.

Keep us posted!!

Love....
