Day 1 of trip 2 to Corsicana by Olivia

Motivation is such a problem in so many areas of my life. BUT! I did document June even though I never documented the Billie June's bday party. BUT! I'm gonna. I also have other photos to post as well. BUT. Some of us decided sort of last minute to go to Corsicana for July 4th and we took many photos of Lauren and Austin and then I took some others as well. It was a fun trip and as with our previous trip, not just Olivia documented it in the journal Whitney bought. But this first entry is all Olivia. I'll let it do the talking about the fun time.

July 3, 2013

Some portion of the Turner and Herrock families arrived on the farm today along with Carrie.

Nothing much exciting happened except that the air conditioner over the sink didn't turn on right away and there was nearly panic over it. (I am the only one on record to have nearly panicked.) Austin and Lauren were the last to arrive and shortly after their arrival we went to Wal Mart and Braum's. We went to Braum's first and since everyone had to finish their ice cream before going to the store, we had to take a longer route to Wal Mart so we went down a road we thought was the right one but ended up being a different one that still got us back to the right road but only after we followed the road to a pop up dead end and nearly drove off the road.

The weather is wonderful! We're wearing sweatshirts at night in July! It's amazing! Ray came to get a chicken and it made a very strange sound and Maggie told him off for the mistreatment of chickens. He said he doesn't have the best chicken catchers in the world. The horses were happy to have people back to feed them treats. We went on an evening ride and saw no animals. Melanie and Carrie put the brisket for the 4th in the oven overnight and had to secure the oven door with an ice chest and a chair.

The meat did not escape and we awoke to the smell of brisket in the morn.

Uneventful day 1 over.

Some of my trip photos....

More posts will follow since the royal baby's on the ground and gone to Grandma's house.
