Catching up a little

It seems like ages since I've been here. During that time so many things have happened and it's all been a real trip for me. Lets see what I'm talking about.

Back in September I had a tooth problem, although I didn't know it was my tooth. I went to the doctor and he was all like, "Back up I've never seen anything like that before on your gums" and I was all like "thanks, I'm super excited to have something original." He gave me an antibiotic and then after the doctor visit, I went to the dentist in October and they used three words that people love to hear, abscess and root canal. Excellent. Then the dentist man sent me to an Endodontist man, which is another awesome fun place to go. So when I went to the endo, who looked to be the ripe old age of 20, and after he looked at the x-ray of my teeth, he talked about replacing things and drilling things and blah blah blah, it was less than thrilling to say the least. My appointment was set for two weeks from my initial visit. Which is my next favorite thing....making an appointment for two root canals and then thinking about it during the wait.

Hold that thought while I now talk about Dallas. Our girls trip was last weekend and it was an unusual one this time. Our trips are usually from a Thursday to a Sunday but because we wanted to attend Walker's 1st ever b'day party, we decided to make our trip from Saturday to Tuesday.

Gmaw and some of her great grands.
Also new to the trip was an Olivia, since her "sched" is wide open these days. The weather was horrendous, cold, rain, snow, more cold. But we powered through to shop for Christmas and other stuff to the point of shutting my bank card down until they could speak to me in person. And I'm not even kidding.
We saw some beautifully lit trees.
That's snow in case you can't tell.
This was much prettier in person.
This is a drive by store for us, no shopping in there.
Found a book written about me. Yeah I know I've already used that joke on photo stream.
As the trip was winding down on Tuesday and Dallas was becoming tiny in the rearview, my root canals were looming large in the future...Wednesday morning to be exact. So Gmaw, Olivia and I were motoring home, living large and talking about Christmas. (Actually Gmaw and I were talking, Olivia had a neck pillow, hat, headphones and sunglasses as her barriers to the world.) We were making good time, gonna be home before dark...so that I could think about the dentist appt. all night long. We were in Shreveport when a lady pulled up beside me on the highway honking her horn with her window rolled down. Clearly this was for a reason and not to make friends. So I rolled my window down to see what she had to say....my tire was almost flat. Noooooo. There goes the making good time and getting home before dark. Well it just so happened that I was at the exit I was gonna take to meet my niece Meredith so I could pick up my super cute snowman door hanging.
And not far down on the exit was a gas station, and after a quick look sure enough my tire was so freaking flat. Total bummer. As Meredith and I were discussing my options, a man walked up and offered to change the tire. God bless him. He quickly started trying to get the spare out from under my car and he just couldn't figure it out. After one whole hour of trying, another man quietly walked up and told him what he was doing wrong and walked away after he made sure the first man was doing it correctly. God bless him too! Then another man stopped to jack the car up quickly with his super fancy jack.

God bless him as well! After all that.... and in no time flat...pun intended...we were back on the road. Just 1 1/2 hours later. So many ughs. But, I'm happy to report we made it home safely. Thank the good Lord. My nerves were as fried as bacon by the time I got home and sat down on the couch.

BUT.

Then I had nothing to think about except the next morning and two root canals. So so so many ughs. After almost no sleep, Wednesday morning came like a freight train and there was no stopping it. I had barely sat down in the waiting room at the endo's office when they called me to the back. OMG I wasn't ready! I'll spare all the minute details but after 2 1/2 hours of drilling and x-raying and drilling some more and... blah blah blah. IT. WAS. SO. MUCH. FUN. I'm happy to report my teeth have better roots. Or other roots or newer roots or replaceable roots. I don't know. Thank the Lord for 20 year old looking competent endodontists. God bless him and all the people. The best news for me is that I've had no pain at all from the dental work and I'm very grateful for that. God bless us everyone!

Back to the report on the tire. OF COURSE it was ruined. HUGE hole that ruined some steel belts inside. I have no knowledge of running over one thing that would have caused that to occur. And OF COURSE you can't just buy one tire, you have to buy two. Don't even get me started on that. Just leave it there so as not to make me rant for an hour about tires and things as such. But tires make friends with the one directly across from each other, never to be separated from that day forward.

But now it's Tuesday and I'm out of school til December 1st and all I have to say about that is WA HOO! And Thanksgiving is almost here! And I can't even believe it so much.

I'm gonna end this post with some throwback pics to our trip to Corsicana in October. I have so many events from the last year I haven't posted yet. We'll see if that changes soon. BUT. These are some random but cute photos of the boys and part of the photo shoot of them as well.

This cracks me up every time I see it. I hear him saying..."very interesting" in his best Sigmund Freud impersonation.
William loves to help with Grandma.
New boots!
The next few are the first of the photo shoot.
I know this is far away but I love the landscape of it.

This was Hank getting up close and personal.

James was all like...
I don't know what it is...

But I want it!
Give it to me now!

I love each one of these.
Well that's all I got peeps.

It's 1:59 and I'm looking for a place to get comfy.

Pretty sure I know where to look.

Peace out to all.
